Matching speakers

Hi

In the past I have been using the Tannoy FX5.1 surround speakers with my marantz home cinema amp. When I moved home I didn't have space for my surround sound kit and my old sony seperates stero system, so I started using my mission bookshelf speakers as my front left and right speakers with the amp.

They sound amazing in 2.1, but when i'm watching 5.1 films etc, the middle speaker is somewhat dwarfed so I want to get a new centre speaker.

can someone give me some advice please about how I match any potential purchases, so they sound good with my missions ?

You really want to be looking for the Mission centre speaker in the same range as your standmounts. What model are the standmounts?

they are mission 700 series, so quite old now.

My amp is a marantz sr4400

i think the centre you need is the mission 702cl, there is one on ebay now

Well, looks to me like the Mission 70c2 centre is the one that goes with those. Don't want to post this link on here (for obvious reasons once you see it!), but if you go to Google, type "mission 700 series" and then do a search, you should see a review of the home cinema package including your front speakers (or at least ones in the same range).
