Marantz Remote App - disc player control?

Hi!

The app description in the iTunes App Store says: "Marantz disc control is also available via RC-5 (Remote Control) connction."

How to connect NA7004 with my CD6004 using the RC-5 cable to get that functionality (through the app). I've tried many times and the CD control doesn't show in the iPhone app:/

What am I doing wrong?

Do you also have a Marantz receiver? Certainly in my set up that includes a Marantz receiver, SACD player and blu-ray player, RC-5 enables the remote app to work very well indeed across all components.

What is less clear is whether the NA7004 offers the same functionality, because how does the app know that you are selecting the CD player to play; with a receiver attached, you select the input - CD player, blu-ray player etc - and you go to 'player view' in the app, which gives you the control of the said component.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure how the Marantz app knows the component connected because receivers offer re-assigmnement of inputs. I'll look a little closer this evening.

Thanks for reply.

Yes, I've got the following setup: PM6004+CD6004+NA7004.

The app should know that, because I've connected the NA7004 with the CD player using the RC-5, right?

OUTPUT NA7004 -> CD6004 INPUT

what I'm less clear about is whether yuo need an AVR in place for the app to recognise the CD player? When an AVR is in place, then you control the AVR, including the source inputs. Is there a way when controlling the NA7004 to assign one of the inputs (digital) to a CD player? You can change the icons that represent the different sources - try changing one of the digital inputs to a CD player.

I can't speak specifically for this set up, but in my set up all my Marantz gear is connected via RC-5, which offers a very effective way of controlling the whole system in an integrated way e.g. via the Marantz App, or IR flasher, RS232 control on one of the devices

So you think that feature (remote CD control via iphone app) is only available for AVR, not NA7004? The app description in the iTunes store is terrible. There's no compatibility list for that feature.

My CD is connected directly to the amplifier with analog stereo cables.

I don't see CD player source selection in the iphone app...

Why are you connecting the NA7004 to the cd player?

To make that feature work. How the iPhone app will know there's a CD player if I don't connect it to the NA7004?

What model of the AVR do you have?

So maybe after all NA7004 doesn't support that feature. Nonsense...:/

I've got another problem:
