Hi! i need help to choose my amplifier, im between a Marantz pm7000n and an Arcam A5. The rest of the setup are a Dali Oberon 7 speakers and a Technics Sl-1200 turntable. I want it mainly to listen vynils and secondly to movies. I can get both for the same price! But without testing.

In terms of facilities (and therefore where some of your money is going) you're not comparing like for like.
You probably know the Marantz does streaming - maybe it's just that you can get it for a decent price 🤔

Either way, if sound is important to you (and it should be), the best thing you could possibly do would be to try both, testing their phono inputs, using your speakers in your room.
Because it's only your opinion that counts - and you will have a preference - avoid living with the wrong choice.

Hi, your speakers are quite sensitive with "easy to drive" impedance. Which is good and opens wide window for an amp to select. Both amps are very good. Marantz PM 7000N is known for very musical engaging sound with very good soundstaging. Also MM phono preamp is here better than in Arcam. Even Marantz has higher power output at 2x60Watt than Arcam A5 with 2x50Watt, Arcam has more autority and fuller bass from those two amps. Arcam sounds faster has more details. It is up to you what you choose. Marantz has also built in streamer but it is more general sound quality today. I recommend also to look for Cambridge Audio CXA 81 mk1 or mk2 or Rega Brio or Elex-R as used. Rega has the best phono preamp from all those amps. Depending how good cartridge you wish to use on your Technics 1200 turntable. Soundwice, Arcam and Rega are sound champions in this group. Marantz and Cambridge Audio offer biggest packages of functions and features. And for sure, try to listen selected amp on your speakers. BR. Juraj
