Marantz Flasher In

Hi,

most Marantz Receivers have a Flasher input, but the manuals don't seem to mention them in detail. Does anybody know how to use these ? Can I for example connect a IR sensor to them, or maybe hook up a harmony RF receiver without the use of the blasters ?? A spec would be great...

Hi Andrew,

thanks for the tip. I checked out the link you proposed, it seems these require a 5V supply, I guess they have a built in amplifier right? Do you know if a marantz unit will supply this, or do I have to arrange for an external supply?

No, I think it's because they're an active design, requiring power. I'm sure Marantz service or your Marantz dealer should be able to advise you what is suitable for the job.

Which receiver do you have? I'll do some digging...

Hi Andrew,

an SR7005 (on order), but I guess it's the same for all of them (that's the least I would expect)
