Marantz AVR Decision

Hello everyone,

my current setup consists of a Sny DN610 AVR, BDP370, and Tannoy SFX5.1 style speakers. In an attempt to move towards a more musical system I was planning on adding a stereo amplifier (probably the PM6004 or maybe as much as LKI pearl lite) to be paired with MS aviano 6s. I heard this combo the other day and it was lovely.

Any way, the DN610 has no pre outs so I figured I may as well go with a new marantz AVR first and see how things sound from there. But my dilemma is which one. I've narrowed it downto either the SR5007, SR6007, or NR1603 and amp together. Movies will still play a big part so don't want to sacrifice anyone there, but for at least £200 more I don't know what more I would get. Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers, Ashley

I have a Marantz SR6006 and it is a beautiful looking and sounding amplifier. I upgraded from a Sony STR-DA5200ES, which was a What hifi 5* award winning machine and the Marantz blew it out of the water

Let me know if you want more details, but from what I have read the 6006 is not much different from the 6007. With the only difference being 4K passthrough(but both have a 1.4 hdmi connection, so I dont know why the 6006 wont do it)

Again awesome machine for the money

Thanks Bryster, I think it seems best to go with the SR6007. It seems to offer a few good extras above the 5007 for little extra outlay. And I don't really want to upgrade again for a while after this.
