I'm thinking about getting one of these models. The Yamaha is an older model i cant stretch to the new Yamaha 3800. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting a little stressed choosing a receiver. I also heard you can't connect applemac computers to network receivers?

what hifhi will bring soon a full review of the 7002.
We will have to wait for it.
For me the Yamaha 3800 is the best new receiver with HDMI 1.3 I know ( especially with bi amping in 2 channels only ).
In HD surround the sound is also very impressive, nevertheless if surround is more important to you than stereo the Onkyo 905 or 875 are certainly also
very good options.

Thank you for your reply. I'm not interested in the Onkyo because of the heat and looks thing. I'm thinking about the older Yamaha because it is a network receiver and is at the same price as the new Marantz 7002. I don't have enough money for the Yamaha RX-V3800. I know the RX-V2700 doesn't have HDMI 1.3 which the new Marantz has. Can you use Mac with a network receiver? Thank you for your time.

sorry but I cannot tell you anything about the 2700, although I have read 2 or 3 reviews about it.
I believe the Marantz SR 7002 is a very interesting receiver. But I would rather buy the new RX V1800 than the older RX 2700.
