LS 50 Meta vs Canton reference 9.2 DC

Hi there,

I’m currently considering upgrading my speakers. I have a Marantz PM 8005 amplifier and I'm looking at either the KEF LS 50 Meta or the Canton Reference 9.2 DC speakers. Previously, I had floorstanding Canton Vento 890.2 DC speakers, but I need to switch to smaller studio monitors. Have you ever had the chance to compare or test the KEF LS 50 Meta with the Canton Reference 9.2 DC? Is the combination of Marantz and KEF a good match?

I 've always though I needed a Canton. A friend loves hers. Is there a good reason for not staying with a known speaker brand? My nephew does like his LS 150's, with a nice Onkyo power unit.

I do believe that "matching", as such, is generally over-stated, over-thought, and over-tried. There are surely many fine options for your nice Marantz.

Couldn't you trial and compare your candidates (and others?) and compare yourself in your setting?
