Lindy 6 way/Tacima CS929

I'm slightly confused by this years award winner. Why has the Lindy won when it is exactly the same product but more expensive than the tacima?

I did think it was an odd choice myself tbh,considering the tacima can be had for £10-£15 cheaper!

I have the Tacima ... paid £24 for mine (inclusive of P&P off ebay) ... as far as I am aware, it's exactly the same item

did not alter the sound of my system (IMHO), but still feel its worth the £24 as there is some form of protection now

So do I. That's what started the confusion, I looked at the pic of the Lindy, thought I've already got that and it didn't cost £40! Than I read the review which seemed to confirm my initial thoughts.

This still doesn't really explain why a £25 award winner has been replaced with a £40 award winner when they are both exactly the same product.

it all depends where you buy ... they are the same item (as far as I am aware) ... so if you wish to purchase, buy the cheaper

The OP is aware that the lindy/tacima is essentially the same product and one is cheaper than the other, but the OP like myself is wondering why the Lindy has one the award over the tacima.....

Not sure I made myself clear before, I already own the Tacima, I'm just confused as to why the WHF team have decided to change the award winner from one brand to another (loads of extra sales for Lindy, a lot less for Tacima) when they are both the same product. I cannot fathom the reason for this unless Tacima have rebranded or something.

as far as I understand, one of the products is no longer made and the ones for sale at the cheaper price are old ex-stock

I'm not suggesting a WHF team member has bought a load of Tacima in at bulk discount, stuck a Lindy badge on them, awarded it PotY and hoping to rake in the profits. I'm just intrigued as to why the award winner has changed.

Perhaps it will explain in the mag itself. I did try to buy one today, no less than two WH Smiths and a Borders but no joy. I did notice from another post that there were some delays in the Glasgow area so hopefully I'll get my hands on one tomorrow.

As has been said the Lindy and the Tacima are the same product under different brand names. Also of note is that they both have the same RRP of £40. Just so happens for some reason that the Tacima is the one that seems to be discounted on various sites. Hence why most buy the Tacima.

I know they are the same product..... Why change the award winner though? Hopefully someone from the WHF team will be able to explain. This thread has been pretty much ignored so far though so I doubt it ;-) Conspiracy theorists, lets here the reasons!

I think the team has certain rules for award winners e.g. availability. The Tacima cannot get the ribbon as it's no longer manufactured, in much the same way you don't see Kuros winning awards. So, the Lindy takes the prize.
