LE40C750 or KDL40HX803 or other ?

I've decided to replace my 10 year old 32" CRT Sony with something a little less bulky! I've tried to be reasonable and wait for the colour tube to go but cant put HD off any longer.

I have a very short list of replacement sets that includes the Samsung LE40C750 bundle with "free" blu-ray player for £770 and the Sony KDL40HX803 stocked at several stores for £899. Both of these sets are 3D capable although 3D content is not something I pine for right now, but never say never I suppose.

Which of these is the better set (in 2d vision & sound terms) and are there better sets out there in the same price bracket?

Well the Sony KDL40LX903 is now available for approx £1200 so if you were thinking of the 803 and needed the 3D kit the LX903 is a better option plus I think its 400Hz over 200Hz on the 803 model.
