Laptop outputs

How do I know if my laptop has an optical out? Ive heard the headphone jack may double as one.It only shows the realtek soundcard in playback devicesat the moment. Would I need to connect a dac to find out?

Sorry but Ive only ever used a usb soundcard and Im thinking about a dac in the near future. It would be good if I wasnt limited to usb.
