Kef Kube-2 buzz

Hi guys,

Just bought a second hand Kef system with a Kube-2 subwoofer, and it's giving off an awful buzz when the interconnect is connected to the amp, when I unplug it, the buzz disappears.

From reading around, it looks like I have a ground loop issue(?!) and the only way to fix it is to either buy a special subwoofer interconnect (expensive - and I've already forked out £60 for a QED one!) or disconnect the earth (potentially fatal!) so I'd rather not do either. Does anyone know of any other ways to fix this?

I forgot to mention, I went to Maplin and bought a ground loop isolator, but it didn't seem to do anything when plugged in!
