Looking in a previous thread (titled 'Speakers to go with Denon 1910' in August 2009), I have read the comment from Wireman (and referencing Pistol Pete) that where he has the Denon 2310 with his KEFs, and is happy with this set up, he has suggested that the 2310 is a minimum starting point for the KEFs and has even suggested that he wished he'd 'gone for a receiver even higher up Denon's range to get the best from these 3005's'.
Excuse my ignorance, but I had always assumed that where the KEFs are rated at 100W / 8ohms, and the Denon 2310 rated at 105W / 8ohms, that the two are basically matched in terms of power. So, if I went for a higher Denon, say the 3310 that is rated at 120W, wouldn't this higher AVR power rating be too high for the speakers and hence the risk of damaging them?
I stand to be humbly educated....
