KEF KHT 1005.2 or KEF KHT 2005.3

I have just placed an order for a Pioneer VSX-LX52 and am wondering what speaker to run with it. I'm really only interested in satellite speakers, and I quite like the look of these 2 Kef models. I'd like the 3005, but don't think the budget will stretch that far.

Which of these, KEF KHT 1005.2 or KEF KHT 2005.3, would be better with this receiver, or does anyone have any suggestion of other satellite speakers which I should consider.

If you can, go with the 2005.3s - they're a step up from the 1005.2s.

how much is your budget for speakers?

I'm in Australia, and my budget is in the AU$1000 - AU$1500 range. I can get the 1005.2 for AU$900, the 2005.3 for AU$1570 and the 3005SE for AU$2100, but that might be stretching it a bit much.

I am new to the home cinema scene and have always considered myself rather unrefined when it comes to listening to things.

But I have demoed (is this the correct spelling?) all three speakers on denon 1610 and yamaha765 amps and even i can hear a big difference from 1005 to 2005. Admittedly for me the difference from 2005 - 3005 was less but still noticable (especially in the centre speaker).

I guess if the 3005 is strechiing it stay with the 2005 and get decent cables.

But definetly try and get a demo first.

I have the 2005.2 and upgraded the centre speaker from the 3005s using the original CP as a 6.1 satellite. My amp is the Onkyo 606. The difference from the 1005.2 to 2005s is quite a bit IMO .I would defo go for the 2005.3 allday long.
