I know there are conflicting views on subs in a stereo set up but I wouldn`t be without mine. You might need to faff about a bit to find the best position/settings but once you get it right I`m sure you`ll enjoy it.Let us know how you get on.

have had a couple before - sold my Epos M a while back when got new speakers as didn't match and currently using my arcam logo which integrates really well so hopeing for very big things with the Rel for both music and home cinema and its a big beast so should be very controlled and low

Let us know how the B2 does. I'm looking for a sub for my stereo setup that has a good response.

Hi matengawhat,

I heard a B2 once and it was stunningly good in every way - depth, speed, intergration and presence.

You will be a very happy chappy / chappyness?

Enjoy !

I'm hoping so not heard it yet!!! but spent quite a bit of time researching it and seems rel make really good subs that have plenty of settings to aid seamless integration also needed one that would work with both my stereo and home cinema system at same time and seems rel offer everything i needed. picked up an ex display with full rel warranty so will be have a good play with it at weekend - need to reset up my whole home cinema system after decorating as well so busy and hopefully noisy weekend ahead

this sub is a big beast - no need for a coffee table!!!! Only joking but bigger than i thought it would be, why do measurements always look smaller on paper - just quickly set up so can start having a listen and sounds solid and fast the extra low end it add is amazing even on subtle accoustic music instruments sound so much more real - lots of tickering to be done this weekend as need some one to assist and gf is already not impressed! should hear a tamborine on this now hits as well as tings wow

spent most of the eve just listening to music and discovering some of my old albums again and can't believe how fantastic they now sound whether that be with dance music, rock, acoustic - just the amount of power, sense of scale and energy the music now seems to has is spell binding - don't think i have enjoyed listen to stiff for ages - still needs some slight adjustments and tuning and i want to try swapping it position - but am really chuffed

Glad you`re enjoying it,think you hit it on the head with your comment on sense of scale,a good sub seems to bring a power to music even non bass heavy stuff.

I'd love it if you could take a photo of your Rel Sub with the rest of your system, to get an idea how it correlates in size! Let me know, if that's possible! I'm thinking of maybe adding a sub that enhances the lower registers without taking anything away from the standmounts, but am trying to weight that against just getting some floorstanders like the PMC fb+ - I know the floorstanders prob won't have the same level of bass as a dedicated subwoofer, but since they might improve other aspects of the sound that the addition of a subwoofer can't, I don't know which option to go for.

By the way, what amps have connections to use a subwoofer with them?

If you go for a sub with a high level connection such as MJ Acoustics or BK Electrics (I`m sure there are lots of others )you connect to the amps speaker binding posts so that should cover most if not all amps.

Know the feeling,my BK is probably half the size again of my previous sub (MJ Acoustics Pro 50 )Knew it was going to be bigger but still a bit of a shock once seen in the flesh,no chance of just slipping it in and hoping the wife won`t notice! (ooeer misuss)
