As it is impossible to sell my Pioneer A-30 and I also got a Van Damme 4 mm cable, as a true hobbist I became happy that maybe it's time to build a little party setup. I was looking for something not that bad, robust and cheap. In my country I could get a JBL 130 quite easily. Do you have any experiences? I once heard them, but it was a half an hour a year ago, so I would appreciate any owner's feedback.

Decent speaker.

When I was younger, I had a pair of TLX-3Gi, the sound of which has always stuck with me. When I heard the Arena 130 I had preconceived ideas of what they'd sound like based on that. But they surprised me in that, unlike most speakers nowadays, they don't try to immediately impress - they're quite laid back and easy going. This doesn't immediately impress, but over longer periods, or playing at higher volumes, they may well please more people. They almost remind me of Spendor, if Spendor made budget speakers.

I know there should be some compromises. In this case it would be resolution. I'm looking for a nice bass, compared to size. Mid and high frequencies should be just ok. In my memories the 130 was a suprise.

Mission is your friend.

Hi guys, so I listened several speakers, and it turned out that the Polk TSx220B was better in terms of resolution, mid-high frequencies, but also had more precise bass than JBL 130 and 170. So now my second line will be: Pio A-30 + Polk TSx220B + Van Damme cable 4 mm. I hope I will not buy every year in May a new setup *biggrin* Oh, and I had to realize that Dali Zensor 3 is one of the most overrated speakers, and also the Monitor Audio Bronze 2 is not better.
