Is the android browser and desktop chrome linked?

I logged into ebay on my android phone's browser and was looking at an item. I decided to log in on my laptop to have a better view using chrome and strangely the item I was looking at appeared on screen.

I cannot remember if you have to log into a google account when installing chrome (I usually use firefox)? But I guess this is the only way it can happen.

I'm no Android expert, but I'm pretty sure thats a function of eBay. That happens with my iPhone eBay app and the web page on Safari.

Not sure about this particular case, but Chrome on Android 4 ICS and the Chrome web browser are linked if you log into it on your computer.
