is it ok to leave amp on mute for a long amount of time?

Hi, I've just added a headphone amp which runs out of the tape out so I have to mute the main amp to stop music coming out of the speakers, is it ok do leave it on mute for aslong as I want or will it break it lol?

Hi Simon,having recently shifting on my pmc's and using grado's instead all the time my bryston is on mute all the time and has been so for a long time and is fine,so i don't think you have anything to worry about.

Don't use my headphones that much these days but when I do I just turn the volume down rather than using the "Mute". May well make no difference but just seems safer to my mind.

Cool, cheers guys! Mute it is then... I always get a bit worked up when I have to mess about with my system a bit and do something out of the usaul. Also my headphone amp has no off switch so guess it will be left on most of the time, I thought the guys in power are getting eggy about stand bye switches so wonder what they would make of something with no Off switch?!
