If anyone is looking to get the iphone 4S, Vodafone have an offer on where you can get £59 cashback if you preorder. Haven't looked at it in detail, but I think it applies to existing customers too.

You can also get an extra £40 cashback through Quidco, so £99 off in total isn't bad!

It's still quite expensive to go for a contract phone.

You can get a SIM-free deal from Vodafone for £10 per month for 600 mins & unlimited texts (12 month contract), add £5 for 500MB data. That brings the cost to £360 over 24 months. Simply buy the iPhone 4S SIM-free for £499, so the total cost is £859 over 2 years.

In comparison, you have to pay £36 a month for 24 months for similar minutes, texts & data. The cost comes to £864. Add £159 for handset cost, which brings it up to £1023.

Even with £59 cashback, it's quite expensive.

Yeah, you're right that it probably isn't the best value overall, but I've been paying £35 a month for my contract for ages now, and don't want to spend £600 up front to get the 32gb iPhone, so I was always going to get it on a deal like this. So £100 cash back certainly helps. Now I just hope it gets delivered this Friday, and I don't have to wait. For some reason the vodafone website wouldn't allow me to select a shop to pick it up from.

when people say it costs £700 or £1100 over 2 years its because hardly anyone has £400-£500 to throw at a phone things like holidays,tv,washing machine, clothes ect its hard to spare that while 30-40 pound a month can be lost out you months wages without ever feeling that you have outlayed much.
