I agree about not being rude but the forums will also be boring without the trev's on here.

I disagree. I'm an occasional poster, but a longtime follower of the forum. It is nowhere near as interesting, enjoyable and fun as it used to be. I think that's down to two things: 1) the "new" style and unusability of the forum has driven many longtime interesting people away, and 2) TrevC, who I suspect has done the same. Maybe a bit harsh, but it's all IMO.

With all due respect, this forum used be the laughing stock of the HiFi world. No one took it seriously, and the moderation was such that only the subjectivists were allowed. Endless discussions about the merits of this mains cable and that speaker cable, squidgy pads, and green felt tip pens. While you may not agree with a more rational approach, I would argue that posters now get sensible advice about how to improve their systems, and (generally) not a stream of nonsense.

Steve1979 wrote It's only a hobby, and a highly subjective one at that. That is something to embrace, not belittle.

Haha! I stolen your praise SteveR750 and you're not having it back.

You're welcome to it, but I blame you for the downfall. At least Drummerman looks pretty

I don't disagree very much with what you say. My gripe is about how some deliver their messages and beliefs.

It's hard to argue against measurements, i am the first to admit that but the results during real world listening, can certainly be open to interpretation.

It is this last aspect of the whole hifi issue certain people have a problem with.

For what it is worth, I personally value TrevC's and other similarely inclined contributions (even if I take the odd snipe at them in good humour). Many make a lot of sense and he/others have the same right to post here. Some will agree with his findings, others won't. No problemo but perhaps make your point once in a thread, not over and over again, this is where it becomes tiresome. The same applies to the subjectivists.

It's only hifi :)

Ive only just realized thats there are 2 steves sorry guys

We're interchangeable Andrew, as you were :)

Are you saying both Steves are audibly transparent? *shok*

If I was wearing a blindfold, I think they would both look the same.

both mentally transparent, and aurally indistinguishable, feel free to add your own typo.
