Hi there every one,

I have just purchased the sony str dh810, and i love it, but i would like more detail when i play music in stereo. I have a set of BMW 601's and a cambridge audio azur 540c cd player hooked up with qed original bi wire speaker cable and cambridge audio yellow phono cable (Sorry not sure of the name).

Any advice would be very useful

It is important to understand that an A/V amp is not the ideal for music especially at the budget end of the market, which is not to say it can’t sound reasonable.

The best advice possibly, buy a separate amp that is not A/V, you could pick one up cheap from somewhere like Ebay if money is tight. One around £150 new would in all probability beat the Sony A/V amp you have with relative ease.

Earlier in the year I purchased a 10 year old Technics integrated amp for the bargain price of about £25 off Ebay. IMO it out performed the Denon 1910 A/V amp I had for musicality & detail in stereo by a large margin.
