When I am eating my evening meal my jaw clicks all the time and causes me to have trouble eating. Is is painful too, I am putting this down to my Gerd and inflamed espaphageous and from what I have have just searched on the internet there seems to be a connection. Do I book an appointment with the doctor tomorrow if I can? It’s happening every night now. I have tried stretching my jaw on the recommendation from my niece and it did work once but then it’s there again for my next meal.

I take 40mg of Esomeprozole to stop my heartburn and being sick after every meal but my body still doesn’t feel right. Like I get dizzy when bending over picking things up like I am going to pass out. I think this is all connected to each other wrongly or rightly. Perhaps I should see a doctor.

That could actually be related to long-term use of esomeprazole. These acid blockers can cause deficiencies in magnesium, vitamin B12, and calcium, which may lead to muscle tension, jaw clicking, dizziness, and fatigue. It’s a good idea to have your doctor check your blood levels for magnesium, B12, iron, and calcium.

That does make sense. Thanks!

Had my appointment yesterday, got a blood test today, and I saw a paramedic, who arranged a blood test and asked when was the last time I had an eye test, I said roughly 5-6 years ago and I have to wear glasses now, so he said get an eye test too.

Since I have come home from the appointment yesterday I thought what else could it be and dizziness seems to be a very common side effect of all my medications!

The jaw clicking he didn’t say much about but again that could be down to my medications, I also had a blood test in March as part of my yearly physical and that throw up a Vitamin D deficiency so I think that could also be why my jaw is clicking, hopefully it will just go away.

Ok thanks, the blood test results came back fine and I have been doing some gardening with my dad. Booking an eye test today. Cheers. Oh yeah and the jaw clicking has greatly reduced.
That is good news!
If you’re taking PPIs long-term, consider supplementing magnesium, vitamin B12, and zinc, because reduced stomach acid can lower absorption of these nutrients. For best results, use magnesium citrate, magnesium malate, or magnesium bisglycinate, methylcobalamin (B12), and zinc picolinate, gluconate, or bisglycinate, as these forms are the most bioavailable.

(Caution: Avoid supplementation if you have kidney problems, or if your doctor has advised against high doses of these minerals. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting supplements, especially if you take other medications.)

Did you try finding out what foods and beverages worsen your GERD? Often avoiding certain foods or beverages can improve your condition a lot.

Thanks. Yes, I can’t drink alcohol, juices, fizzy drinks, citrus foods and have to limit the amount of chocolate I have. I have been on Esomeprazole for about 2 years now because of heartburn too and before then Lansoprazole and another one I can’t quite remember then name of for about 12 years now. It’s working.

Just had my eyes tested at M&S Opticians normally use John Lewis but wanted a change this time and my eye prescription was really outdated and the optician reckoned it was causing my head to feel heavy. This time I went for non-designer and it still cost me £333! I had 2 pairs one to wear all the time with the tint for when outside it was cheaper than getting 3 pairs of glasses.

Then one pair for when I am on the iPad, which when you get to over 40 lots need it, I think they called it a reading pair of glasses. 😎

Managed to cut down my opticians bill by cancelling the reading glasses and taking out the tint money on the other. Man he pilled up the bill the other day, on stuff I didn’t think I needed.

If you have your prescription, you can order glasses from here. They're quite cheap in comparison. Of course, you don't have the luxury of checking the right frame for you (unless you go to one of their Manchester stores) but you can use the free try at home offer.
