Can I hook up the Rega Planar 2 to the Onkyo A-9010, and then onto the speakers?

I've read about Ohms, and how you sometimes need to stack two phono, to get 8 ohm? Can someone explain this?

The total without speakers seems to be around 575 quid.

What's the advantage of Rega's earthing, and why does the company insists on its unique style?
