I purchased my Velodyne CHT-10Q subwoofer back in 2009 and in the last few months it has started to make a continuous low humming sound which is distracting in low noise situations. I've tried playing with the subwoofer settings and resetting the sound settings on my Amp but the humming sound continues. Is this a common problem with subwoofers and in particular this model? Any ideas on finding a solution, other than replacing my subwoofer much appreciated.

See this is the problem with the English language. It's ambiguous. Do you mean there is a humming distortion from the speaker itself when you play it (hence why you were trying to adjust your amp) or do you mean the unit hums whether or not it's plugged into the amp? If the latter, it's probably just the transformer humming, having worked itself slightly loose.

Could be mains pick-up, i.e. the subwoofer cable is picking up the 50 Hz hum from the power cable. Make sure they're well apart before you get the screwdrivers out.
