How to play Onkyo ND-S1 ipod dock through a Denon 2310?

I'm just in the process of setting up my new system to make sure everything is working. The Denon user manual definiotely isn't doing me any favours.

I've connected the Onkyo dock to the Denon via an optical audio cable into the "OPT-2 (DVR)" input. Silly question I know, but how do I get to hear any music?

You need to ensure that input defaults to the optical input when selected. As far as I recall, the factory setting is that it defaults to HDMI.
