Hi

Im planning to buy a powered speaker and DAC for my mid HI FI set up.

Here are the product links

Powered speakers:- https://swanspeakers.com/product/m200mkiii-bluetooth-bookshelf-speakers/

DAC:- https://www.spacehifi.com.au/brik-audio/brik-audio-da-converter

I already have a cd player which supports FLAC format and has usb input.

If I play the FLAC files from usb and feed the coaxial output of the cd player(https://www.whathifi.com/sony/bdp-s4100/review) to the coaxial input of DAC which is fed to speaker, is this a possible set up and if yes will there be any loss of quality? (Compression along the line)?

The FLAC files I have are mostly 16bit, 44.1 KHz CD quality
and some 24 bit, 96KHz Qobuz songs

I cannot find any reference on the speaker manufacturer's website or in the product manual to the maximum supported sample rate. I would be inclined to take a chance though and just connect your CD player directly to the speakers. You can always add a DAC later, if you need to. The speakers have a coax input as well as an optical input, although they seem to have mixed up the labels on the back panel, at least on the pair in the photos.

How do they sound?
