How to connect smart speakers to Amazon Alexa

If you have any of the Amazon Alexa devices such as the Echo Dot, you can play music with the most amount of ease possible. But the only drawback is that it doesn’t allow for a large volume range. But if you own a smart speaker then you connect it to your Amazon Alexa device via Bluetooth. Follow the steps below and you should be able to connect smart speakers to Amazon Alexa with no hassle at all.

Step 1
Download the Alexa app.

Go to the Google Play Store or the iTunes app store and download the Alexa app. It is free to download for all devices.

Use the app to configure your Alexa settings.

Now launch the app and head to the top right corner of the screen and click on the menu button. In the menu click on the ‘settings’ tab and select your Amazon Alexa device.

Step 3
Find your smart speaker.

Turn your smart speaker on and set it to Bluetooth mode. Make sure it is discoverable. Now go back to the app and click on the ‘Bluetooth’ tab under the ‘wireless’ menu. Click on the ‘pair a new device’ button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4
Connect your smart speaker.

In the same window your speaker’s name should appear. Once it does, click on it and it will be paired to your Alexa device.

These steps should have successfully connected your smart speaker and your Alexa device. You can now exit the app and use the Alexa device to play media via the smart speaker.

If you wish to set up this connection, simply turn on your Alexa device and smart speaker and ask Alexa to connect to your speaker.
