Hi

How to Connect a Subwoofer to Marantz PM6003 Amp?

Is it possible to connect a Subwoofer with Marantz PM6003 Amp. If yes, could you please explain how as it does not have an outlet specifically for connecting a Sub. Thanks.

You need to buy a sub with a high level connector which you attach directly to the speaker posts

As there isn't an LFE out on the Marantz then, as Paul states you'll need a sub with a High Level connector (normally as well as the low level LFE connector)

Then you can connect two of the wires from the HL connector to the L&R red speaker terminals of the amp and the third wire from the HL connector would go to the black speaker terminal of either L or R as I remember. Make sure you follow the colour coding in the manual

Easy to do, just need the sub to have HL connector.

Hi,

I know this is the thread's first comment for over a year, but I was hoping for some help on the topic. The Wharfedale SW150 does not have an output labelled 'High Level Connector', so would it be impossible to connect this to an amp without an LFE.

To ask the direct question, would it be basically impossible to pair the PM6003 with the SW150?

Here are the inputs and outputs for the Marantz PM6003:

And likewise for the Wharfedale SW150:

Many thanks for any help!

Hello I own a Marantz PM 6003 and the only way you can connect to a SubW is with speaker level connections, if this helps , I used to have it connected to the b speaker connectors, in order to no affect the speakers performance and to be able of turn off the SubW funcionality with the amp controls.

I hope this helps. Kind Regars from Spain

You can also connect the amp tape 2 out to the sub line input, but you have to control sub volume with his knob everytime...
