It's easier to add the channel than actually find anything on it to watch

Especially now there's no football!

Ironically, i'm now back on the old-EPG, courtesy of a box-swap for a new Samsung. I'm not missing ITV HD, but it's amazing how fast i've got used to the new EPG's neat features.

Still, shouldn't have long to wait - Sky engineer said Samsung boxes are due the new EPG 'within six weeks'.

Anyone know why it has dissapeared? You need the new EPG to be able to add it, and as you have a samsung box and the new EPG hasn't been rolled out to samsung's as of yet you wont be able to access it.

You can tell when you've got the new EPG, it doesn't look anything like the old one.

It's not the age of the box that determines if it gets the new EPG, it's the make and Samsungs haven't been done yet.

is there any way to add ITV HD to your channel list instead of having to go through the options menu each time.

Clare Newsome:
I'm spending Good Friday a) suffering from a revolting cold and b) getting to grips with the new Sky+HD EPG.

Have just added ITV HD (not that there's anything on at the moment..). Here's how:

Hit the TV guide button on the remote

Scroll along the top menu and select the Options menu (one that looks like a Cluedo head!)

Select the Add Channels menu

Scroll down so 'Frequency' is highlighted - then hit the red button and change the GHz to '11.427'

Change the polarisation to 'H'

Symbol rate (Mbaud) = 27.5

FEC = 2/3

Then hit the yellow button to 'Find Channels'

ITV HD is channel 10510 - add that and save it.

To watch ITV HD, you need to go back to the 'Options' menu; 'Other Channels' and select 10510. And there you go!

Even when there's nothing on, you should get an ITV HD holding screen, like this:

OK, so it looks like I won't be able to pause/rewind/record ITV HD, but it's going to make watching live Champions League/FA Cup football a WHOLE lot better

Hi All,

does anyone know why i cannot change the Frequency?

I have the new EPG and followed each instruction but nothing happens when i press the red button when frequency is highlighted. I can change all other options.

Does my phone line need to be connect?

Heh, no! Just type in the number using the keypad, also when you've found the channels, you need to press the Yellow button to select it BEFORE you press select, otherwise it doesn't save the channel. Took me a few goes to realise that, although it does actually tell you that at the bottom of the screen, I just didn't notice.

hi all, i recieved my new epg in early december yet when i go through the sequence of adding itv HD the frequency always seems to reset itself after ive altered to 11.427. so all i get on 'channel 10510' is a blue screen followed by 'no satellite signal being recieved'. the retuning worked fine on my mothers thomson stb earlier in the year when she recieved the new epg...... maybe SKY have done something to stop the newer amstrads from getting itv HD......?????

but that could be just my paranoia.... help/advice appreciated...

Tried your method Bigboss and yes the channel did show up from the empty screen and low an behold, its the ITV holding screen. Looks like success!
