Looking thru some of the reviews im seeing 5 star ratings from 5 years ago, sometimes even more. How long is a review good for, how long can go past before technology advances and the next super duper breakthru happens that might turn all those 5 star items into mere 4s?

I've found that audio reviews are irrevelant. You'll spend the rest of your life trying to find that perfect sound, unless you stop spending time reading reviews and go out and listen for yourself. Don't get yourself hooked on what other people think. It costs a fortune.

What you have just bought does not suddenly sound rubbish, because it lost a star in a review last month!
If it sounded good then, it still does sound good - but maybe there is something else with a slightly improved 'X' - but hey .... that's life and it always will be the case with anything technology based.
A review can only be written in regard to what it's up against at the time.....
