How do you set up a Philips 42PFL9664 to browse PC?

I have a Philips 42PFL9664.

I have set the network up - it can 'Browse NetTV' but it won't 'Browse PC'.

The PC recognises that the TV is accessing the computer through Windows Media Connect, verified by the MAC code of the TV (does Windows Media Connect need to be running, it is anyway?)

The files are set to 'share'.

When I chose the 'Browse PC' option the TV displays...

"switch on your computer and start the media server application.

the TV continuously checks if a media server programme is running."

...and then does nothing.

I am assuming that "the media server application" is Windows Media Connect (?).

Have had a mate who is excellent with computers look at it but he can't figure it out (he has been able to fix everything in the past and knows what he is doing)

HELP ! ! !

I'm starting to think it may be that Andrew as the manual mentions WMP 11 and I'm running 12.

If so then hopefully the next software upgrade will sort it.

Sorted!! Updated my router software and did some blind fiddling in windows and now it works.

Interestingly I contacted Philips who said the tv did not support WMP 12...... funny old world innit.

I've tried and tried, but no way can I get the Philips to see my PC. IOt's driving me nuts!!!

I'd be really interested to know what that 'blind fiddling' entailed.
