Just binned my Sony all in one and replaced with a Logitec 2.1 computer speakers at a cost 0f £40! Lets face it all we want is half decent stereo with a bit of base, plus no speakers all over the place (just my Naim system).

At last an 'an' preceding an aitch

Sadly though, the 'an' should only be used in front of 'unstressed' aitches like... "an heirloom" or "an hour". Hotel used to be such a word (and, no doubt, holiday) but no more.

(Are you the reincarnation of John Betjeman perchance?)

Well that is concerning....... We need a classified section so I can sell the whole shop although I doubt it is worth much now that the cat is out of the bag !

I am off to put the kettle on and break the news to the guys.

Sounds like you may need to get the JCB back and convert your new pride and joy into a Logitech 2.1 computer speaker system room, al...

(With a bit of basement, of course)

Well, the OP is not the first to write off 5.1 and 7.1 surround systems.

AVI are now telling us that it is all a "cheap trick" and it is... "all driven by monstrously inefficient and expensive surround sound receivers connected to huge nests of wire."

and it was developed from their "flagship ADM 9.1 system" and its called the "Neutron 5"

very clever this numbers game

Not surprising really. All I have to say is that they've obviously not heard a decent 5 system. I'll put mine up against theirs any day of the week.

For £1299 ? (Amp and sub and speakers.)

Whatever might be said (and i've said some of it), AVI have a pretty impressive 'trophy cabinet' over the last 20 years or more and continue to rack up top notch reviews.

FrankHarveyHiFi:Not necessarily for £1299, but some of the things stated about multi-channel systems on that web page are just tosh.

To be fair, yes, £1299. That is the cost of the equipment on which AVI are making their 'challenge'. Can't go giving you a blank cheque to counter-challenge with.

Surely comparing £1300 worth of 2 channel to £1300 of 5 or 7 channel is rather pointless?
