Hi,

Was at local AV/HiFi shop passing time. The owner is more of a music fan doesn't mind people popping in having a chat, listening to gear etc... Got talking about HiFi as we was ordering some wall attachments for Bose Acoustimass 15s. We got talking about why the customer wanted Bose. He said they prefered the sound i.e. not too much high frequencies and not too low. This led on to what is HiFi, my perspective was HiFi is high fidelity i.e. to be faithful to the source recording with out colouring it in anyway. Present what is their without interpreting it. He replied that he understood what I meant but that HiFi fans in the UK prefer equipment to colour the sound to make the most of a track where as Americans prefer transparency. So what does HiFi mean to yo?

Something with a good tune & enough bass to annoy the neighbours, unfortunatey i've never experienced good hifi as i've always lived in close proximity to my neighbours & have to keep the volume down. |(
