Hi I would like to play my large CD library on random shuffle whilst not losing any sound quality, any guidance gratefully received. Are there many / any options? My current system is Naim CD5si, Hicap Nap250, Nac72 through Monitor audio Silver 10.

Great, so you've been through the ripping process already.Hi I have approximately 800 cd's all of which have been converted and saved as Flac files so I can play on an MP3 player.
Nearly had a stroke when MP3 was mentioned 😂Great, so you've been through the ripping process already.
Now time to make our choice of FLAC streamer. State your budget.
And forum rules preclude swearing, so let's not hear any more mention of mp3
I thought about a multidisc player.......but as he's done the hard work of ripping to FLAC.....Look at broadcast quality CD changers. You can load them with 100 CDs at a time. They can go for silly little money nowadays.
I've noticed this as I was typing. Should teach me to read entire sentences.I thought about a multidisc player.......but as he's done the hard work of ripping to FLAC.....
In your case you would be streaming your own files from local storage, not from the internet.Sorry I haven't kept up-to-date with current trends so I don't know anything about streaming. As I live in area with extremely poor internet connections will that make a difference?
OK, we can find something for you.Hi, I'm not interested in visuals at all as my sight is failling just the sound please.
Absolutely yes to all of that. How does streaming from local storage work, what would I need, would the quality be as good and could I randomly shuffle any song from any of the stored discs?
OK.Hi the hard drive is a portable one that connects through usb
It connects to your amplifier with the same type of lead as your CD player does (in your case a twin RCA to 5-pin DIN lead?).How does the streamer connect to my system and can I use my existing hard drive?
Don't worry about too many questions.Thanks. Would the sound quality be as good or very close to my current cd player?
How would shuffling the tracks work and controlled?
Sorry for so many questions but have not kept abreast of current trends and not at all a techophobe.
