If you like the sound of the Tannoy Oxford's I find the CXA60 an excellent amplifier in all respects and through all sources that I use.the question is only regarding how the quality of the sound results of this combination,
i already use the Tannoy Oxford , intend to buy the Cambridge CXA 60 or the 80 the question is
best sound .
First i already have in use the Tannoy Oxford speakers , regarding the amplifier i am flexible to get recommendation from the form , as well recommended new modern up to date shelf speakers to use with the CX60As a speaker that was designed to work with low powered valve amps the CX60 should be ample but have no idea what the combo will sound like, you are going to have to figure that one out yourself as I don't think anyone else will be able to tell you anyhow. In my opinion the source then the speakers are what determine the resultant sound rather than the amp.
What made you decide on these two may I ask?
what do you mean by shelf speakers? Have you bought the CX60?First i already have in use the Tannoy Oxford speakers , regarding the amplifier i am flexible to get recommendation from the form , as well recommended new modern up to date shelf speakers to use with the CX60

The Tannoy Oxford look like a budget item from the late 1970s and are likely to be pretty ropey now unless repaired professionally. How do they sound?
