Hi there, up till now we've been managing with an old Yamaha 5630 amplifier and a Yamaha NS-P100 5.1 speaker package but as we're sorting out the living room it's time to upgrade.

I have an Infocus IN76 projector and a Denon 1930 DVD player as a base and I think I'll get the Jamo A102 speaker package but I'm looking for an amplifier to get the best from it all.

We don't have a TV, and the only consoles we have are a PS2 and a Wii.

Been looking at the Onkyo recievers, is there a model which would suits our needs best? is 606 overkill? any others we should look at?

 Thanks

Ive got the Onkyo TX-SR 606 and and its a fantastic piece of AV equipment and would complement your current set-up...........

However in the last 12 months there has been some great amps from Yamaha the DSP-AX763 £400, DenonAVR-1909 £450 and the Sony STR-DA2400ES £500

All of these have their own plus and minus points, my advice is to test any of these models and then the decision is all yours.............
