Help with surround sound systems

Ive recently bought a samsung ps51d8000 tv and i want to purchase a surround sound system to

go with this tv. My options are limited because of space so im looking at 2.1 systems. My price range

is anything upto £7-800? Would really love some input as i really havent a clue where to start.

Have you considered a soundbar?

Yamaha's YSP-2200 is bang on your budget and apparently gives a pretty good surround experience. Obviously you'd have to demo for yourself to see if the reports are accurate.

Any idea how the yamaha ysp-2200 would compare to the bose cinemate gs series 2?
