Hi,

I am in the market for some new headphones my Current HD 215's have finally kicked the bucket and i am looking for an upgrade. I am looking to spend between £100-150 and the headphones will be mainly used for playing games. I am open to both closed and open headphones but i do require a detachable cable. The headphones will be plugged into my MSI GT72-2QE Dominator Pro G laptop, but i may purchase a dac if required. Thanks

I bought them for both gaming and music. Never looked back. They rock.

I have the Meridian Explorer for sound card. That rocks too.

Before I got the DAC they were OK on the PC audio-card. However PC audio-cards are not so hot.

Your budget leaves you with the option of the Grado 125e. These are fine headphones but they will get a little hot on your ears after many hours. I'd recommend read the review for these headphones though.

Or you could look at the AKG 550

Why don't you jsut google best headphones in your price range. What Hi-Fi do an article on best headphones, which is divided over-ear and on ear. Just get what you want from that.
