hi, im upgrading my sound setup for my pc room and im unsure on what 5.1 av amp will be best for me

i will be connecting

40 inch lcd tv/monitor
xbox 360
pc with hd graphics card and blueray dvd drive (also my main music supply )
ipod
technomate satellite box

main problem im having is that i don't want lose stereo audio quality and from what ive been reading
this can be a problem with av amps

speakers i will be using

front: Mordaunt Short 902i
centre and rear : Mordaunt Short Genie

the most i can spend is about £300

i have been looking at the Cambridge Azur 540R V3 (thing thats putting me off is no auto setup and i wouldnt have a clue how to set one up correctly )

and

Onkyo TX-SR605 ( but ive been told that the 540R would be better for music )

in short i want the best of both worlds in my price range and i would be greatful for any advice

Marantz AV amps are generally considered more musical. The Marantz SR3001 is in your price range, but you'd need to audition it as I've never heard it!

Also, don't let the non-auto setup put you off. With my old Denon AV amp, you just input the distance of each of the speakers (in feet or metres), then listen to the test tone and adjust the levels according to what sounds better to you. There's no right and wrong answers for this, just keep tinkering until you're happy with the sound.

yeah i just read the manual for the CA 540 v3 and you just add the distance in the setting as you have said
so i think i am looking towards this one now as i already have a CA A5 amp and its been great
