Help! AV Receiver Choice - Pioneer vs Onkyo

I am desperate for some objective advice on the choice between the Onkyo TX-SR875 and Pioneer VSX-LX70. The reviews for the Onkyo seem very convincing but is it really that good? I am keen to give the Pioneer full consideration as it is around the same cost and is far superior in the aesthetic department!. How do they compare for a) movies and b) musically. Also I do wonder whether the Pioneer would give improved compatability with the rest of my kit, ie:

TV = Pioneer PDP - LX508, DVD Recorder = Pioneer DVR-LX70D, Speakers = Dali 6 5.1

Any comments/suggestions would be much appreciated

With your system, I would go Pioneer all day long. I've demo'd one and not the Onkyo. I can't imagine how much better the Onkyo could be. The Pioneer has just about all the attributes you could possibly need, the power, the looks, connections. I'm sure you could find rave reviews on line too.

The only way you will ever know is hear them back to back! i wouldnt be too botherd about mixing up different makes it matters not a jot.
