HDTV & computer?

I have an HD LCD TV (TX-37LZD85) which I've got connected to my pc via a d-sub 15 pin connector and as you can imagine the picture is rubbish.

If I got a graphics card with a HDMI output and connected it that way, would I get a better picture when I watch things off of the internet?

Also, at the moment it's all on-board graphics - no card in my PC.

Hi griftywelder, I have my Inspiron connected to my tv via HDMI.I watch the BBC I/Player and the picture is very good, there was a problem with sound so i got a 3.5mm jack to phono leads. I connected the 3,5mm jack to the headphone output and the phono to the tv inputs.
