I'm potentially going to have a long run a projecto (c 20m). Does anyone have experience of sending HDMI over Cat5 or 6 network cable? If so what products were used and was there any degradation in image quality?
A mate of mine used to use a Lindy balun component video setup to send the 1080i/720p output from his sky+HD box to a second room via network cable. It worked fine with no loss in quality. HDCable do some cheap solutions but I would speak to tmfsolutions, Joe and John there really know their stuff there and should be able to sort you out.
d4v3pum4:I think that wireless HDMI has now been more or less abandoned. At £800 a pop, no wonder.....
I did look into a wireless system but at the time it was over a grand! I managed to get 2x30m of CAT5 terminated cable off EBAY for £5 a pop and HDMI-CAT5 sender/Reciver for about £30 the pair also of EBAY and quality is good only downside is inabilty to remotely control the devices.

Just a quick follow up on this - I'm presuming home plugs won't work with this solution?? (i.e. instead of a long CAT5 solution)
