HDMI handshaking problem on SKY HD box

Has anybody else had problems with Sky HD box while watching BBC1?

Our box stops outputting a signal via HDMI every 15-20 minutes. It will not respond to any remote signals or buttons pressed after this has happened. Only after we have switched the TV off and on again will it "reset" itself. It then responds as normal. This all started after the EPG was upgraded, so might have something to do with this.

It is very irritating, and Freesat now seems like a good option, even with less content

Yes. And it is fine afterwards if you pull the power plug (just takes longer than switching TV on off and back on). It will then be fine for another 15-20 minutes before it "dies" again.ÿ

I am not able to switch the SKY HD box off and on ÿvia remote or standby button, as it does not respond to any of these. The "power" light stays green on the box if I do this and no picture still.

As I said before, the box is responding normally as soon as I have switched the TV off and on again (or pulled the power plug on the box)

Did you ever resolve this? I have had the same problem for a few months.

I would think the problem has to be with the Sky Box, I suggest you contact Sky as the box seem to be freezing.
