I was tempted to try it but when I checked my Acer i3 laptop it said my hardware was not compatible! ☹️ I think you need 8th gen intel chip or later ….. so not for me it seems. As above. Thanks
I discovered the same problem with mine. It has Windows 7 on it.I was tempted to try it but when I checked my Acer i3 laptop it said my hardware was not compatible! ☹ I think you need 8th gen intel chip or later ….. so not for me it seems.
I can upgrade to 10 but then I would’ve to upgrade then to 11. That will cost around £180! I am better of buying a brand new cheap laptop with Windows 11 on.I came late to computers - and only then to convert my CDs to FLAC ( not sure I'd own a PC even now if it hadn't been for that).
So I jumped straight in at Windows 7, then 'upgraded' to 10.
Not in any hurry to move to 11....or even find out whether I'm able to.
Oh yeah! Perhaps I will buy Windows 10 then. Cheers.I thought Windows 11 is a free upgrade if your laptop is compatible.
Thanks BB.It is very like your laptop won't be compatible though for Windows 11. So don't buy.
I just assumed it was free too.I thought Windows 11 is a free upgrade if your laptop is compatible.
Thanks Michael! You need to get off windows 7 Gel. You won't be getting any security updates as it is end of life.
10 would be fine and is in support until 2025.
That's only 4 years off. My laptop will only be 10 or 11 years old by then10 would be fine and is in support until 2025.
Have you checked for updates? I think even Windows 10 was a free upgrade? That's only 4 years off. My laptop will only be 10 or 11 years old by then
I would be happy with something that doesn't need support - even if it wasn't so clever.
Maybe a reason for me to go for W11 when 10 is no longer supported.
You're right W10 was a free upgrade from 7 (for me at least).Have you checked for updates? I think even Windows 10 was a free upgrade?
Crikey, I haven’t used my laptop in years no wonder I missed the 10 upgrade!Have you checked for updates? I think even Windows 10 was a free upgrade?
Not sure why you were thinking of upgrading (and buying) the software if you aren't even using the laptop.Crikey, I haven’t used my laptop in years no wonder I missed the 10 upgrade!
It is a bit different.Just checked and Windows 11 update is ready to download. Downloading now.
What’s it like?Have updated my laptop with it. Everything else is too old.
I was thinking getting back in using a laptop again. I miss touch typing too.Not sure why you were thinking of upgrading (and buying) the software if you aren't even using the laptop.
