Guidance please!

Afternoon WHF team and forum users. I'm looking to upgrade my amp and purchase a blu-ray player and I was wondering what you recommend for my current set-up, maximising PQ and sound. Currently I have Pioneer PDP-436 tele and B&W 600 Series 3 surround speakers.

I'm quite interested in the Yamaha RXV-1900 now that I've just read the review however is the 3900 worth the extra dosh? I don't have a preference on a blu-ray player and may wait until your blu-ray supertest which I understand is coming up shortly. Cheers.

It's my opinion that the BD sweet spot is currently with Sony and their BDP-S550. There are (arguably) better players in the same class (well maybe one), but at a significantly higher price than the Sony. All depends on your budget I guess. If you're minted go for one of the £100 jobs!

Thanks for your response. As my tele only accepts 720p would it be prudent of me to go for a less expensive BD player like the Sony BDP or Panasonic BD's and get a better amp? Cheers.
