Sounds just as good as the Naim Muso wireless speaker in my view.

I am having a coffee a few yards from my local John Lewis. I will go and listen to one now. The reviews are very encouraging (except WHF who only gave it four stars, but they tested it at £170 and not it’s current £129 to be fair).

Having heard both Naim Muso versions (and the current B&W Zep model) i’d be suprised if it matches any of them for scale or quality but we’ll see.

I have had one for some time but I bought for our touring caravan. Absolutely brilliant in that I can load up a few megs of flacs on my tablet and listen to 'proper' music - knocks spots off my fairly decent car radio/CD player which came with the van and which has its own subwoofer.

Interesting that your link does not show a photo of the charging cradle.

I also got one, always take alone when I travel. Has an unbelievable bass reproduction for it's size and a rich midrange. Quite musical as well. Love it. *dirol* I made a mistake to buy the latest portable BOSE speakers thinking it would sound better, it was a big mistake. Back it went. Still yet to find any portable speaker that sounds as good as the Bose soundlink II. *smile*

Same price at John Lewis guys, shows the cradle on this one too, not sure with the Amazon one, Yep me and my nieces have one and love it. It was my sister 40th birthday last year and had a big party at a bar and sports venue and my niece’s Bose was brilliant at filling the large room with great sound.

Just to say I only just managed to resist an impulse buy of this device today!

It is not as good as either of the muso models (sorry gel) BUT, nonetheless, it is insanely good for £129 and I am still trying to find a reason to buy one :)

It feels nice too. Lots of metal in it’s build and a bit old-fashioned looking (all good as far as I am concerned). I like the charging platform too.

No where as good as the Muso, but for the size and price its very good indeed. Portability at it's best.

I have just spent £900 at John Lewis on a new sofa for my room! Got some Gant tops too in the clearance sale. I suppose I could’ve bought my Xbox One X from John Lewis but they didn’t have stock instore. Still can’t control my spending though, but had been quite good this year, up until last month! I have asked to be banned from the electrical department though and have since tried to buy stuff but have been turned away, I must have my dad there with me for me to be allowed to spend in that department.

That is very impressive from John Lewis. I doubt there are that many stores that would behave in such an honourable way.

I guess they know by now that if Gel buys something in the electrical department they will only have the hassle of a return to deal with a week or so later, so better to stop him before.

It sounds like a good idea Gel, although your £900 spend on a sofa for your bedroom suggests your spending may just move into other departments instead?

Back on topic, I had the Bose Soundlink Mini original version and was amazed how loud it went for such a small (but weighty) speaker.

Remember my desks were along one wall well I got rid of both of them and put a sofa there instead, Yep, you could well be right Buzz, but my room was in need of a change.

You've managed to have some self control on the buying front
Well done

My new Bose Soundlink Mini II sounds superb and really suits my taste for Radio 4 with voices being warm but very clear. Suprising bass extension (for it’s size) but balanced with good highs and mids too. Nice ‘heft’ (all metal casing and substantial build from what i’ve seen of the internals online).

It didn’t take long - on it’s handy charging platform - to take on a full charge and pairing was easy and voice assisted.

It wees all over my old Logitech Mini Boombox (and a useless old Sony SRS X2 that I regretted not taking back at the time I bought it).

I left it on all night (quite low volume) in the living room, starting with a 100 percent charge and - 8.5 hours later - it was still announcing an 80 percent charge when I popped it back on it’s cradle.

This is definitely a keeper.
