In case you've skipped straight to the Forums, we've just posted our review of LG's new Scarlet Full HD flatscreen: you can read the test of the 42LG6000 here

good test you get to the point and tell us what we need to know can you do the same with the new philips sets ???

hi this is my first post so please go easy on me, i just bought the 42lg6000 iv no skyhd yet just sky+ but watching the football at moment on itv and my old crt tv was miles better the ball goes blurry when hit in the air and the players r a bit blurry as well iv tried different picture modes to no avail, dvds our good havent tried bluray yet. would i get a far better picture with the new samsung series 6 or the pana 42 lzd85 plasma and would the shop <currys> take it back for these reasons or can i make the blurryness go away by doing anything else.

i do love the style and features on this tv and the only fault seems to be the football but thats what i watch a lot of would hd elimate this problem.? sorry its so long many thanks soupy7

Just had a look at the Moscow match - in the interest of research, you understand, as soccer leaves me cold - and the picture quality is the usual ITV rubbish. I'm sure there are good reasons to do with the host broadcaster and so on, but it looks truly horrid.

HD wouldn't help at all, as this is on ITV, and for now ITV isn't broadcasting HD, but it's coming soon. It would look as poor as this on just about any TV - mine's a 50in Fujitsu pro monitor downstream of the video scaling in the Onkyo TX-SR975 receiver, and The Apprentice on BBC1 standard def looks great (blame Mrs E that we're watching it!).

We'll just have to hope we get more HD broadcasts more widely available soon, not just by paying for Sky, to make the most of all these spiffy new TVs.

I'm watching it on Sky Sports HD 1 - also showing the game - and it looks awesome: detail and motion both superb. That Scholes injury was revoltingly gory close-up in HD....

Mr Duncan? MR DUNCAN??

Someone really does need to have a word with their broadcast engineers!

That was your cue...

OK, people, reset for Take Two...

I just flicked over to ITV and was shocked how bad it looked - you could barely tell which player was which, and the picture was fizzing with noise.

So sad that many viewers with HD TVs of any size (and especially those with Full HD displays) will experience such a key game in such a way. Roll on ITV HD!

Extra time? Will Coxey make his plane back?

(WHFSV News Ed Joe Cox is daytripping in Moscow - or should that be night-tripping? - for the game)

Watching hte Champo League Final on ITV is by far the worst my 37PX80 has looked over the week I've had it. Cech just looks like a fuzzy orange blob in that strip.

Honestly, one of the worst nights in my life and you're worried about the picture!!

(Incidentally, I watched it at a friends on Sky - very glad I did considering the reports!)

thanks for the response, were you watching it on the lg clare and if so was it totally different than sd on the itv?
