front ported vs rear ported speakers

I would have countered with musikelectronic geithain's similarly-sized-but-not-priced RL906 but then I remembered that it is top ported...

Front ported can be placed closer to walls with out sounding to muddled. Sadly modern houses are getting smaller and smaller so many people don't have the luxury of 30sms of space behind their speakers so front ported can be a good option.
