Hi All, Just a quicky. I was thinking of piping my Tvionics Freeview through a 'scart to vga lead' which I saw going cheap but I was beat to it and to buy one normally is expensive. Anyway, getting down to the nitty gritty I was thinking of replacing my reciever to a 'Onkyo 606' anyway which should beat my Marantz one for sound hands down and help me clear up spaghetti junction at the back of my hi-fi. Question I want to ask is, if I get a Scart to Component Cable into the Onkyo will this then upscale this to 720p or 1080i etc or does anyone know of a easier and more cost effective way I can get my Freeview looking better as it is only on 576i like normal tv? Many Thanks all, Paul

If the TVonics is able to output component video - not just RGB - via its Scart connection, then yes this will work fine with a Scart to component lead.

Thanks for the rapid reply Andrew, on the ball today.
I have it running through a RGB Qed Scart and it works fine but I don't think that component is on the menu but I will have a look.
Otherwise I guess one of the scart to component converters I have seen may work it is just they are around 50 quid.

Right, I have just checked and the menu has RGB, Y/C And CVBS. I am unsure of the meaning of the last two?

S-Video and Composite, respectively, so I suspect you're SOL, sorry.

Thanks and dammit. But i can still go for the scart to component converter right?

Thanks John, Yeh thats the ticket. I seen some on ebay from the u.s which look similar hope they do the trick.

That is a damn good point Andrew, totally forgot about that. I better ask pronto then I will post it on here. cheers

Right, it says it does: PAL, PAL M, PAL N, NTSDC, NTSC 4.43 and SECAM. So I guess thats them all catered for then.
