Which are the best speakers between the Focal Chorus 706V and the Eltax Monitor III?

Are these interesting choices?

What amplifier do you use?

Tonally they are different, but the Focals are technically a better speaker which means very little if the amp doesn't suit.

Agreed, not enough information to attempt to answer the question.
One may be far better, on paper, but we don't have your ears or your listening room so nobody here can say for sure.
Given the choice I would go for the Focal because, if you don't like them, they would be easiest to sell on.
Both will need suitable stands and the Focal will need plenty of space.
