I'm saving for my first adventure into HD and Blu-ray and I've been researching a hell of a lot of TVs and BD players. But I keep coming back to the Samsung LE40B550A5 because the reviews all seem to be fairly great. Also the BD Player I have been eyeing up is the Sony BDP-S360. For a budget buyer are these pieces of tech the best I could buy for the price? They seem to have all the spec I need, aside from the Samsung being only 50mhz. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Do not buy a TV with less than 100hz or you will notice a fair bit of motion blur. If you could tell us what size screen you would be after and what sort of budget you will probably get a lot of helpful suggestions. Once you have a few suggestions go and compare a few of the screens and see what you think. Also bear in mind the big players in the TV world will all soon be releasing 2010 models. Might be worth being a bit patient if you can.
Not sure I agree with this statement, most people with LCD TV's and reviewers suggest turning the 100 Hz and other processing off, or they can't notice any considerable improvemnt with it on.
I certainly have, and have not noticed any increase in blurring.
I believe the 550 series gets an excellent review for it's price by the WHF team, the only way to reslove this I suggest, is to go and get a demo before you buy and see if you notice any blurring with sports etc.
I have a 6 month old 32" 50Hz samsung in my conservatory (can't remember the model) and I certainly have no problems with gaming or football in HD.
